There are many scrum tools out there so my question is gonna be more specific.

  1. Can be deploy on-site (i.e. not something like Pivotal Tracker)
  2. Free =)

I am exploring IceScrum and XPlanner+. Any other better options?

As far as possible and applicable I would always recommend whiteboards, pin boards, flip charts and a moderation case.

If you really need software (really!?), I only know about "Scrummy".

You may also check ScrumWorks Basic.

I have decided to use Redmine with Scrum PM plugin. I have been using this for 2 weeks now and I must say, it's pretty cool.

IceScrum2 looks nice but the user management part is quite difficult to get used to.

Although Scrum PM plugin is still in it's early stage but it's workable for now. =)

As Peter, I prefer to use index cards, post-it, etc. When I have to work with distributed teams, ProjectCards is my choice.
I like it because it's simple to use. Free version is available for 2 users but the price is very reasonable.
