Just notice that after updating to Safari 5 (mac) all the flash applications that respond to resize events got sluggish.

try: http://www.tutorio.com/media/flash/liquid-demo.html

this works great with firefox 3.6.3, Chrome can deal with it fine, although not so fast as Firefox, but new Safari gives a awful experience, distorting all content if you do fast resizing.

Any ideas why is this happening / and how can I get a better performance with safari browsers?

Somebody told me this wouldn't happen in the Safari 5 on his computer. So at least there might be a chance to turn the damned feature off. (freaks me out)

I experienced the same problem. For me it started after I recently upgraded to CS5. I have been looking into all sorts solutions, and was relieved to discover I could turn off the problem be de-activating the switch to launch Safari in 32 bit mode (Thanks Mark L and dome). - I'm not sure if installing CS5 might have turned this on as I never seemed to have the problem before, or if it is a new issue between Safari and the Flash plugin. I agree with Mark too, in that it wouldn't surprise me if Apple were taking extra measures to hurt flash in order to maintain their iphone app monopoly. Now I am just wondering how things will be for 32 bit Safari users? I normally like Safari but it doesn't look like it will the sites I wanna build.
