I'm a programmer with a little experience in databases.

Is there an online DBA certification that can help me to get better job?

That is a hard question to answer because of all the areas involved in databases (like development or administration, for example) and probably why the down votes.

Take a look at the Oracle certifications that are available and you can get an idea of what you would like to do. Probably a good start anyway.

Good luck.

Certifications can help. I've seen some job ads that say they are preferred. And for someone with little experience they can help.

But the big factor always will be experience. You need to find some way of getting more experience. Preferably with large datasets.

When I was trying to break into the DB field I was working with databases with 30k records and no one was very impressed.

Keep trying and good luck.

All major database vendors have certifications that you could take, but non of them are for free, and they are costly. However Certification is just a start and will only prove that you have "read the manuals" and understood them. (With the exception of some of the more advanced Microsoft Arcitect and Oracle certifications that require a two day proctored live test) But with a proper education (Bsc, MsC) a certification is a good add on.

See:

http://www.mysql.com/certification/ is this certificate good or its just theory (The issues in development exam - looks simple, but in admin certification I dont understand)
