How can I record who borrowed what for our office library?

I am looking for suggestions for a very simple book borrowing system for our office library. For example, should we use an Excel spreadsheet, some email based system, build something ourselves, or is there a web application for this? It just needs to record the title and name of the borrower at a minimum.

Sounds like a great idea for a quick MS Access application with a few basic forms. Get a cheap barcode scanner and you can even have the program scan in the ISBN barcode from the back of the book. It's a great little project for a junior developer.
