Speed Tracer AND profiles in Chrome?

Has anybody been able to get Speed Tracer and profiles working in Chrome?

To use Speed Tracer I have to install "development channel" Chrome, which reinstalls the stable version. And the dev. version seems to ignore --enable-udd-profiles, i.e. Ctrl+M does nothing.

I'm fighting the latency and I was hoping Speed Tracer would help me understand why it still reaches 8-9s.
