Sending Menu and Buttons to Active View - xcode

Question

I have two views. Which display a Letter each.

I have 3 buttons/ checkboxes. Which can set the bold,italics, dropshadow.

What I want to do is have the current view be set by the checkboxes and set the checkboxes.

So if the view is for example is showing bold:YES, Italics = NO, DropShadow = Yes. then I want the checkboxes to reflect the settings as well as letting me change them.

also I want the Save PDF menu to save the selected view.

Any help would be helpful ;) I've been stuck on this for three weeks now and can't figure it out. So any help would be greatly appreciated..
