We are using OL 2003 and are building an addin in which we use Application.AdvancedSearch. We use this API to get filtered contact lists. Works just fine on most machines.
On some however, the search result brings back all contacts seemingly ignoring the filter. Its certainly not a code issue - it works fine on most machines.
Advanced Search is run in the following setup .
User 1 has a OL profile which is configured to point to his exchange mailbox. User 1 has additionally included (mounted) his colleague (User 2)'s mail box using
Tools > Email Accounts > View or change existing e-mail accounts > Change... > More Settings > Advanced > Add
. User 2 has shared his mail box and contacts folder with user 1 as Publishing Editor.
The query/advanced search is being run on user 1's OL but in the context of User 2's mailbox (Path is set to \Mailbox - User 2\Contacts). The same query works fine when run on User 1's contacts folder (our guess is that advanced search is not working on additional mailbox) .
Please note however we only look for contacts and thats where we have trouble. No mails...calendar etc....
