That's like an artist asking random people what he should draw or a novelist asking random people what he should write about. Work on a project that interests you!
Do you like video games? Working on one is a very good experience that teaches you all kinds of things (graphics, AI, sound, GUI, serialization, possibly networking, etc).
You're lucky that you can just work on any project you like right now as opposed to being forced to work on something particular for a job. Take advantage of it by working on things that are exciting for you.
After you make up your mind on a project, then choose the appropriate language for the job.
i prefer to work in java than c or c++
