Where can I find video lectures on software engineering?

Which web sites do you know that contain free training videos on programming ?

Lots of them - what are you looking for??

  • ASP.NET has tons of how-to videos on web programming, and related topics, like SQL Server programming
  • DimeCasts has tons of screencasts on various programming topics (not just .NET)
  • Channel9 is all about programming .NET, SQL Server and much more - lots of contents

There are also some very good commercial providers - not free, but well worth their money, if you're serious about learning more about programming:

  • Pluralsight has a huge library of on-demand training videos and courses
  • TekPub has a growing library of screencasts on various topics

For some academically rigorous and very authoritative knowledge in video lecture form, check out these lecture videos from MIT!

Though I've never checked out the CS ones, the MIT video lectures are usually very good. Another good place (which has everything *but* CS) is [khanacademy](http://www.khanacademy.org/)

3DBuzz has a variety of tutorials. It's a subscription site, but they do offer a number of free vids. Enough to give you a basic intro to C++ and other things.

One drawback is that the host of the site really loves to banter while the instructor is teaching, and I found it got annoying rather quickly.

Still, it's a start.
