Our company has been contracted to create a very custom project involving an EPSON Artisan 50. Basically we need to control the location of the printer head and specifically which ink cartridge to use (and where). From my half-day of research, this seems completely possible with an ESC/P2 compatible printer (I've been reading over the old ESC/P2 manuals from epson along with the docs and source code from gutenprint) however I can't find any confirmation that the Artisan 50 is, in fact, an ESC/P2 compatible printer. Our main concern is that PCL and PostScript will not suit our needs so we need to use something that allows for more direct control. But the client is insistent on using the Artisan 50.
So... does anyone know if the Artisan 50 supports ESC/P2?
