Mail Merge with XML data file in Microsoft Word 2003

I am trying to do mail merging with XML in Microsoft Word 2003. XML file is normal ASP.NET exported file with address. When I point XML file as data source, the Word error message appear as "ODBC Excel driver login failed. Extenal file is not in the expected format"

Any idea how can I resolve the issue with XML?
