Has anybody taken a training course for mobile web site development that they would like to recommend? The course can be on-site or online. The course should cover XHTML MP development, I would think.

I don't know of any specific courses, but until you find one you could start reading the dotMobi Mobile Developer's Guide.

Maybe you could read: w3c best practices, opera tutorial, and GAP of L.Passani (creator of WURFL). Of course dotMobi practices is good link too.

The Nokia Developer forum/resources have really good info on learning WAP 2.0 or XHTML Markup languages for mobile devices. You have various simulators for which you can test your application. Other mobile development platforms that could be of interest is Qualcomm's BREW
