Implementing a product configuration page, like on Dell's site

Hi,

If you go to Dell's website and configure a computer, it won't let you choose certain part components.

I am building a Sharepoint site (ASP.NET behind the covers), and need similar functionality. Is there a component available that offers this functionality? If not, what is the best way to go about implementing this - javascript validation, something at the SQL Server level (where all the product details are), etc?
