I'd like to read Peopleware, but the library here only has the 1st edition (from 1987), rather than the newer 2nd edition (1999). Can anyone tell me what the differences between the 1st and 2nd editions are? Is it worth trying to get a copy of the 2nd edition, or should I go for immediate gratification and just read the 1st ed?

Now, with a new Preface and eight new chapters—expanding the original edition by one third—the authors enlarge upon their previous ideas and add fresh insights, examples, and anecdotes.

Seems like you'd be missing out on 1/3 of the book.

All the new chapters are at the end of the 2nd edition, so if you start out with the first edition, you can finish up with the second edition later :)
