I'm having a problem showing mpeg-2 movies to the visitors of my website (using Windows Media Player plugin). WMP thinks the movies are shorter than they really are, resulting in the movie stopping before its real end.
I was able to reproduce the problem by simply opening WMP and choose "Open URL ..." from the menu. For example this movie "http://www.cymit.be/sjarel/too_short.mpg" wil be found and played by WMP, but only 14 seconds instead of 17. The second time I try this, it works as it should, I assume because the file has been downloaded completely by then.
I also noticed this problem only occurs on some PC's, not all. So I guess it must have something to do with the installed codecs. However, I can't expect the visitors of my website to install codecs especially for my website.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my video-files ? Is it possible to play them using a WMP-plugin on a website, or do I need to change the movie files for this ?
