Hello,I have completed my graduation in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in July,2010.I want to work in IT industry but i'm really not interested in programming and all. Therefore i am planning to do a course in SAP.But i'm really not sure about which module should i go for???....please help me out here.

A:

Well I can't answer this question for you because most of the modules are also strongly related to a specific area in business. And SAP has stopped using the term modules but uses solution now days.

  • Financials
  • Human Resources
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Product Lifecycle Management
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Business Intelligence

So if I were you I would rather ask myself what kind of business context is attracting me. In my case that would be the Business Intelligence part. But that is completely subjectiv.

In addition to Yves' answer, don't forget the various industry-specific solutions. You'll probably need some luck to get involved with a company that uses or sells services based on one of these, but from my point of view, good IS consultants are rather hard to find and well paid.

Thanks a lot Vwegert and Yves M for all your information, well I have just completed my graduation and do not have any industrial experience......It is just that i have heard so much about SAP that i planned of doing it.I am looking for a module which doesn't require an MBA degree.

You don't need an MBA to get into any of the SAP module. I'd suggest to pick a business area that you have some interest for and try to get a job at a company that runs SAP. It sounds to me that you may have to look into applying for a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst role at such a company. This will allow you to gain both the business knowledge and System knowledge that you may need.

Alternatively you can look for a job at a SAP consulting firm as a Junior Analyst.

Trying to get a SAP certification on your own is very expensive and will not guarantee that you will find a job as a SAP consultant.

Good luck!
