to further update to those who viewed my last question concerning wss3.0 and wss4.0 on on one machine in window 7 x64 in a non active directory environment.

i went through the "pain" of unstalling wss4.0 and its database from the basic install, then i reinstalled wss3.0 in the advanced method with its database on a named sql server 2008 r2, then i reinstalled wss4.0 but this time i had to upgrade from wss3.0 to wss4.0 successfully.

So to review in the end result, for a proper developer environment with windows 7 1. install and set up wss3.0 on windows 7 x32 (non-active directory - using Bamboo Solutions). 2. do the same for windows 7 x64. 3. then install wss4.o and upgrade with the existing wss3.0 to wss4.0.
4. Then you actually see within Sql server management studio r2 the actual wss4.0 database that was just went through the upgrade process. 5. In brief - on physical windows 7 x64 with one wss4.0 configured setup. 6. You can of course just install wss4.0 basic setup and then have no access to its database and then forget about wss 3.0 that windows 7 operating system. 7.
