Hi,

Currently I am studying in university. As normal part of my course requires me to form a project team.

  1. Any advice on how to look for good team members? I would like to be a team leader.

  2. What's the definition of a "good" team member?

Thanks.

It depends on what you believe is "good"

Anyway it can be few things among these

  1. Enthusiasm - an interest to do things
  2. Willingness to work hard and put extra efforts in case things become tight.
  3. Sound technical knowledge and open to arguments, discussions etc.
  4. Ability to motivate and mentor others in the team.

I agree with ckv. I'd also emphasize the ability to park the ego. Everyone developer has an ego, it's par for the course and what gets them in this in the first place. It's the ability to park it and listen to others and then work with them that makes the difference.
