Are there any good libraries or tools available for adding wifi multiplayer functionality to an Android game?

The amount of work and cost involved for getting even the simplest of turn based multiplayer features into our games is somewhat daunting.

Doesn't have to be free.

A:

Mages is an opensource multiplayer game library.

This looks pretty cool, but GPL will probably not work however, our applications are commercial and not open sourced.

Very widely used on iOS (iPhone/iPad) is OpenFeint: http://www.openfeint.com/developers. They just released am Android SDK.

Their upcoming Playtime should deliver what you search for free: http://www.pocketgamer.biz/r/PG.Biz/OpenFeint/news.asp?c=23195.
