MS Access text file linked table locking issue.

Question

I have an Access 2007 db with a table that is a linked text file. The db is used for reporting purposes only, no updating.

When more then one user accesses the db which is stored on a network share, the second user gets an error message. "the microsoft access database engine cannot open or write to the file........It is already opened exclusively by another suer, or you need permission to view and write its data"

Each user has every security permission except full control.

Is there a reason multiple users cannot access the db that contains a linked text file as a table?
