Is it possible to have a "virtual touchpad" or "virtual trackball" on a touchscreen monitor?

I have several monitors and only one of them is touchscreen. I am trying to do away with the mouse and keyboard for an app I am working on and would like to use only the touchscreen.

I need something like a virtual touchpad on my touchscreen monitor so that I can move the pointer to my non-touchscreen monitors.

I'm almost certain I saw some sample code for this months back, but after hours of searching, I'm empty handed.

If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful.

EDIT: Now at 4 hours of searching with no luck. If you have any ideas at all, please reply.

Long ago, there were these things called light pens. Pens you could use against a nontouch CRT. I think they still make them but are moderrately expensive ($200 and up ) which might work for you. Baring that I think you may be able to use a IOGear digital scribe, depending on how much area it covers.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking something more like a piucde of software that would (for example) take up a 3 inch x 3 inch square on my touchscreen that I could use as a mouse emulator. I use several screens, and without some way to define an area of the touchscreen as a virtual mouse, I am unable to move my pointer off of the touchscreen and onto my non-touch monitors.
I guess as a worst case, I can consider hardware based devices, but I was hoping to leverage my touchscreen as the one and only input device.
