Often when people learn a new technology/tool, they come across instances of it being used in a way that isn't readily understandable to them. For example, for a beginner who just learned HTML/JavaScript/CSS, seeing some sites have funky UI's and effects will look complex and intimidating - because hand-coding such effects is something that people want to do. The obvious question then one would ask is "I wish I get how do they do it"; and the answer would be that "using JavaScript libraries like jQuery or Prototype" and AJAX. Same with case of, say, Blender. When newbies just learn animation or even creating trivial objects, what they hear is Blender being used to create complex and high-quality animation movies. Their innocuous question will be "how do they do it" too (and I don't know the answer!). So I wanted to know if there's a site (or a list of them) where new comers can point to specific instances of technology usage, and experts gives an overview of "how the do it".
Probably there isn't a single site/forum to ask these questions, but I'd like to know the list of such existing sites (or probably the respective user groups are best for the purpose, but still).
