Dynamic 3 column layout with jscrollpane

Question

I have put jscrollpane into a 3 column layout where the center column resizes. It works great in firefox. In internet explore the center column drops down when the column is in between maxwidth and minwidth unless i run it in ie7 mode. At maxwidth or minwidth the column is fine. This happens in internet explore 8.0.6001.18702

In safari the problem is the same but I don't know of away to correct it.
