This is a subjective question and I know it might be closed, however as there are many good programmers here. I would like to ask you fellow out there, if you were to describe yourself to a potential employers in one sentence/in an elevator pitch, what would be a good catch phrase/hook/interesting point that would attract them to let them interested that you're a good web developer?
Assuming this is the case for you (hopefully, since you're here on a weekend I guess..), let them know you work on development projects or research at home in addition to work. Examples would help too, if you have any.
A try:
I am a good programmer because, I have written lots of code (>200.000 lines), and I have written a lot of code that other had to use, and people liked to work with it.
I am not a good writer on the other hand, so I would still prefer to do some tasks at hand in my interview.
But the most important skill as a developer is IMHO, to acknowledge that others are good programmers, too (many good programmers feel like god, which makes it a pain to work with them), and to love to be told how your own work can be improved. No one is No. 1!
