want to grow in database administration side

i have 5+ years of development experience. want to grow in database administration side.Planning to do DBA certification. any one can suggest me?

Oracle certification is probably the most widely recognised. Although MySQL and SQL server are of use also. Their courses are pretty pricey though, expect to pay several thousand pounds/dollars/euros for a course.

From my experience most companies definitely do like DBA's to have some development experience.
