You have a misunderstanding of what Flash can do. That's ok though, so do most people. :) Reads are fine on SSD; however writes are A) destructive and B) Very slow. In order to write any non-empty block, an entire page must be 1) Erased and 2) Written. There are various algorithms to improve this but the reality is that it will be slow. But if you dropped your laptop from the second floor, your data will probably still be ok. :)
