How do you print directly to a dot matrix printer in C# using file LPT1.

I did it on C++ with fopen, but I don't know how to do it in c#.

Set up the printer in Windows as Generic/Text Only, then print to it.

Here's the code I use to print to a label printer that has its own encoded text format.

Hi Adam, this code works fine with file name,.. like TextWriter tw = new StreamWriter("myFile.txt") but with LPT1 I have this error, "filestream ins't open win32 devices, like partitions or tape uniteds" why? thank you very much

It means that C# is unable to open LPT1 like it would a file because it's a device. Silly C#!
