I was trying to build a pretty simple website recently, and I thought I'd use one of the many CMS's out there to do it. I started using Drupal, it was ok - but as soon as I wanted to do something pretty simple like change the color scheme to something other than the defaults available, it all turned hairy, and before I knew it I was signing up to create CSS stylesheets. All I wanted was to be able to change the color scheme - I really don't want to have to write code. I know as soon as this happens it will turn from a week's playing around to 6 months or longer. Does such a CMS exist - where you can go from start to finish, put a block here, there, change this, that, without having to be dragged into writing code.

A cms should generally be a ready to run solution, except for making a setting or two.

I've deployed TikiWiki in several instanaces with good success

I don't think any CMS exists that will remove every aspect of coding. However, in terms of simplicity, I'd have to recommend Graffiti.

Yes! No coding required at: http://sites.google.com/

Wordpress. There's a million themes and it's all point & click. Wordpress.org for self hosted, wordpress.com for free hosting.

Drupal is for web developers, basically. Google something like "drupal wordpress" to see comparisons

try joomla, most themes have different color themes! if u can find one that suits you, you dont need to write any code and change the color from the backend, on the other hand if you cant find any, witch you are completly happy with your going to have to write some code. its pretty simple though

A:

Changing colors is possible with Drupal 6, if the theme supports it.

Administer -> Themes -> Configure
