What are all the useful design review tools?

Question

Have you ever used any tools which helps in analyzing design itself?

Though design is mostly compared to art, is there any tool which directly analyzes or helps in analyze existing design?

Note : Though mostly I am interested in Java, anything is fine.

One thing that helped me in the past is JDepend. It isn't strictly about design, although dependencies is a part of it. This helped me to make sure that my design isn't too restrictive.

the best tool is your pencil and paper, draw picture about your design(one picture for a small design field), tell the others.

although there are lots of tools in computer, I found nothing is good as paper work, because it is fast and freely.
