The Netbeans plugin has a little design preview window (Alt+Shift+P), every time you apply changes to the fx file it will be reflected in the preview window (as long it is compelete and executable). With the last version of the JavaFX Kit plugin (version 1.7) that does not work anymore. There is still the preview but it renders the preview like an image, means you cant interact with components and it does not react on any code changes.
I didnt find an answer in the usual related forums yet. Not sure if its a bug or a feature.
