I have a client who will most probably eventually self host their own video streams. For right now, that doesn't make sense and they wish to contract out with a third party vendor to perform that service.

The digital rights of the content are such that they cannot be openly and freely distributed on the web so youtube is not an option.

I am looking for recommendations as to choice of vendor. What Streaming Video Service Provider would you use?

A:

UStream's Watershed may be what you want.

I gave Watershed a try and it is most definitely not what I want. It appears to be for live broadcasting only. They prohibit the ability to upload pre-recorded videos.

Try Award winning streaming media specialists, Astream.com:

Sorry, no. Astream is all about live streaming whereas what I am looking for is video streaming of previously recorded content.

It very clearly states that they also do ondemand hosting as well
