Hi there, My buddies and I were having a discussion over the effectiveness and efficiency of google wonderwheel. We have put aside the pretty animated effects it has, and are looking at the impact it would have on the effectiveness of a user in coming to an answer.

I've noticed that Wonderwheel breaks if you search isn't exact (try 'Play Station 3' as opposed to 'Playstation 3'. You get '0' results, whilst in a standard search, it's intuitive enough to string together that the searcher was looking for a PS3 console.

We notice the benefits of Wonderwheel, if used from a high-level. For example, working off Google's example of a digital camera, we find WonderWheel extrememly beneficial un the case where a consumer is looking for a "Canon SLR". WonderWheel returns results on specific Canon SLR model numbers as opposed to the standard search which doesn't list as many canon model numbers and categorises the results at a very high level.

So we guess, when it comes to optimising user search effectiveness AND efficiency, we were wondering what the community though about when it would be best to use Wonderwheel.

What are your thoughts about it?

Thankyou, Lucas
