Here are mine:

  1. DevExpress VCL Subscription. Pretty expensive but worth a lot more. I', still amazed about how great a value they deliver to a developer. Grids are fantastic. Editors, skinning. all. Support is great.
  2. REMObjects SDK. I love the way I can break the functionality of a big project into a few of smaller ones and then exchange the data between them in many ways. Without using packages which I always try to avoid.
  3. TMS Smooth controls for the makeup.
  4. SecureBlackBox SSL not to rely on third party dlls, but get SSL functionality with full source code.
  5. FastReports, inexpensive and a great reporting tool. Regularly updated.
  6. Addin_express for creating Microsoft Office addins. I'm using it in my next project. it works on all versions of MSOffice.

I'm quite fond of JSDialog. It's a very slick TaskDialog component that works on both XP and Vista. Using it instead of MessageDlg improved so many parts of my software.

MathWorks' Strip Chart: MWStrip.ocx. It's great for data plotting and math function graphics. The problem: it's not free, it cames with Matlab 7+

Although DevExpress certainly deserves mentioning, I am a little bit troubled by their recent updates on the VCL subscription. I bought the subscription about a month ago after good results with the grid. Only then did I read on their subscriber forum the almost angry posts from users about the lack of ubdates on the subscription. It looks as if most of their investments are done in the .net components.

DevExpress makes "an order of magnitude more revenue from .NET sources then from Delphi" (said Julian M Bucknall the Chief Technology Officer at Developer Express) But we do get updates. TreeList has been updated recently and we are about to receive the long awaited update of the layout Control pretty soon.

Raize Components. Wouldn't do any UI development without them.
