Does anyone know of a phone number blacklist (for telemarketers) API

Question

I'm about done with the spamming from telelmarketers on my phone. I was wondering if anyone knows of an API or a service that lets me query a phone number against a list of known spammers. Ultimately, I would like to be able to add a number but that isn't as important.

It is easy to do for email, why not phone numbers?

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there's a national do-not-call list for telemarketers.

Probably you want to use the do-not-call lists but you might be able to do something with this:

There is an Android app that shows White Pages information as a call comes in. That should usually let you decide whether or not to let voicemail take your call.

(I assume there is an API as well; here is the app: http://blog.whitepages.com/category/whitepages-mobile/.)

If you just want to implement your own block list, Google Voice can do that, or you can write a quick script on your phone (via android-scripting).
