Hello SO world. I want to post a web developer job ad and I want to get the most for the money. We were hoping to get the best job site out there to find a good web developer for our company. I know that most of you will say SO, but my manager already told me that SO is not an option, if it was for me I will definitely use SO for my post.
Any ideas?
In the last few years, most of our applicants (the vast majority, in fact) have come through craigslist. Before that it was Monster bringing in applicants, but lately we've seen relatively little activity there.
If your manager is telling you not to look for programmers on a programming website (especially one that demonstrates objectively what the developer's abilities are), he's crazy and should be put in time-out.
http://jobs.stackoverflow.com is where you need to advertise if you want to find a good developer. Cross-reference applicants with their profiles here to get a feel for their skills and experience.
