Hello, I have read the answers to a question asking whether Zend PHP certification is worth the effort: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/165999/zend-php5-certification-does-it-matter

I was wondering whether anyone has completed the Zend Framework Certification? Is it worth doing? I know they have a 'Yellow Pages' directory of certified developers, has this created any worthwhile leads?

I currently use Zend Framework and like it a lot, I am just wondering whether it is worth taking it a step further.

I think it depends on your actual situations, if you are looking for a job, and then need to have more to offer to your future boss to get hired, then it would be a good ideas, else, if you use to work with ZF each days as a developper in an entreprise, I think it is enough to prove your skills.

However, if your boss wants to offer you the formation, it could be worth to do it... We always have something to learn.

My employer has actually used that directory to find freelance programmers. I learned it on the job here, but have not gotten the certification myself.

The ZFC is mostly a prove that you know the in- and outs of the Zend Framework, and especially about all major components and it also covers some security aspects. After all it doesn't really prove if you are a good programmer or not.

On the other hand, certificates are always a good thing to debate about your salary, being it a new employer or the current one.
