I'd like to embed a discussion thread on a website. Doesn't need to be anything complicated, just need to be able to post comments. Threading would be nice, but isn't strictly necessary. Google wave would be perfect, except most people don't have wave accounts yet. Is there anything else out there that I can embed on a page that would facilitate a single thread of discussion?

Try Nabble, it's very embeddable and you can use as forum or as mailing list.

I've seen Disqus used all over the place. Usually as a replacement for built-in comment systems in blogs, but I'm sure it would suit your needs, as well.
