Hello All,

My question is that currently what browsers with what versions support HTML5 and CSS3?

This will help me assess when to actually dive into HTML5 and CSS3

Thanks

A:

Only firefox proposes to support HTML5, and it supports CSS3. For other browsers there is limited support and workarounds, but they can't be trusted.

I think you ought to wait a little more to get into HTMl5. I think an year.

Well, the browser with the largest marketshare (guess which one :)) still has nearly no support for both HTML 5 and CSS 3. The fact that both are still in a "Working Draft" stage and at least partially far from being a Candidate Recommendation should also tell you whether you should jump on it or not.

Generally, Gecko, WebKit and Presto have varying levels of support, mostly eye-candy stuff. But for real-world applications I wouldn't use it. Yet.

  • Cross Browser Support from Quirks Mode - you can drill down to the feature you like, it gets very detailed.
  • When can I use - An interactive table that shows when features are (and will be) ready for public use. There's also a handy option to accept JavaScript replacements, like <Canvas> for IE6.

Only Webkit have a good support of it (and so iPhone & Android mobile)
