Getting the full URL of the current page (PHP)

Question

I'm working on this page: http://localhost/projectname/custom.php

Both <?php echo $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; ?> and <?php echo $PHP_SELF; ?> don't give full location. What should I use to grab the full url location?

There isn't a native way as far as I know, nute you could use this:

 $pageURL = 'http';
 if ($_SERVER["HTTPS"] == "on") {$pageURL .= "s";}
 $pageURL .= "://";
 if ($_SERVER["SERVER_PORT"] != "80") {
  $pageURL .= $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"].":".$_SERVER["SERVER_PORT"].$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"];
 } else {
  $pageURL .= $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"].$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"];
 }
 return $pageURL;
}
