Hi,

I am integrating Paypal into my application for in-app purchase.

I am using Paypal Mobile Checkout for this purpose.

I will like to know whether Android Market will approve this kind of application which uses a payment gateway other than Google Checkout.

Can anyone let me know where I can find information related to this?

Thanks & Regards

Sunil

Have a look to Android Market Content Policy for Developers.

Developers should only charge for applications and downloads from Android Market through the Market's Payment Processor. Developers may offer free applications as access points to paid services for which customers have registered and provided payment information. This should not be used as an alternative means to the Android Market Payment Processor to collect payment for usage of applications.

"in-app purchase" of...what?

That depends on what you are charging for. Distributing your app for free, then charging for your app via an "in-app purchase" would seem to violate the Android Market developer agreement.

Your attorney or other qualified legal counsel, who you should be using for questions like this.

As far as i know Amazon uses it's own system and not going via google checkout. I agree with Mark's point that in-app purchase is violation of agreement the way it's written now , but amazon seems to get away with it. Seems to me like a double standard or we agreement needs to be corrected and more precise about such things.

Amazon may have signed a separate contract with Google. If you are Amazon's size, you can do that too, I imagine.

You should ask this in the Android market forum.

3.3 from Dev Agreement ...you must collect all fees for the full version of the Product through the Payment Processor on the Market
I think you'll be able to get away with that until they decide to ban you. :)

And that sucks, since that payment model is not activated all over the world... only in some countries...

Yes, among the other things. That's why I'm launching appack.com.

Hi,

I think finally developers have got the option of implementing In-App payment model in their applications. Paypal have launched Android SDK for In-App integration. So, that's really good news for all the developers who were looking to implement In-App in their respective applications.

Please have a look at the above link for more details.
