I've been working for about a year in this start-up as a developer and in this time I've managed to get acquainted with the technologies we're working with. However, there's this one client that I've grown fond of over time and for which I've devoted my full attention and expertise when needed. The problem is my boss wants to expand the team for this client and decided I should work with a much older coder (25+ years older than me) which I know has a pretty awful coding style (doesn't follow standards, uses a lot of dirty hacks). I'm really thinking of standing up to my boss regarding this issue (especially since I have prospects for employment for the client I'm talking about), but I really don't know how to do this (the programmer I'm talking about is pretty close to my boss). Any ideas?
