Enhancement functionality to current system

I have a internet / intranet application.

I am thinking of some enhancements functionality to the current ssytem.

Normally what are the things i should look at or what are the common enhancements that people do?

go talk to the users, ask them what they hate about the app. they are fully aware of the parts that suck. get a good inventory of all those issues, then start fixing the "low hanging fruit". Those are the issues that are easy for you to fix, but cause a lot of pain for the users.
