How to be a freelance web developer

well i am a web developer and graphics designer...

how can i get freelance projects and project from cross countries...

are there any online places from where i can pick projects or are there any companies who you can contact and stay in-touch for continuous freelance projects availability...

where and who to contact and how to conduct...

not a programming question but could only be asked from the cream of the industry so that's why posting here...

plz don't direct me to rentacoder kind of stuff... people there are willing to do projects on 1/4th of their reasonable payments... i am looking for something very professional

no offense JPpro... just for a funny note... shouldn't there be a shame badge for people who do this kind of stuff like in this case weather true or not... a badge called 'Master Paster' for first answer marked copied and a badge 'Over Achiever' for first copied answer got accepted..

@Moon,@SwDevMan81, with all due response, whole idea is to provide solution at same time get experience out of it. I will remember these thing next time. But i think my motto was to edit in detail but first give quick response what we have already in stackoverflow. I always like to edit and make it fully helpful.I have been working on freelancer.com since last 4 years so i have experience and how to do, but explaining quick you may miss important points. So i search what is solution; add my experience and edit finally that works.
