Hi Everybody,

Ok, it's a noobie question but I have to start somewhere. I have a PowerMac G4 computer, the one with the AGP graphics card. I'll like to run the XCode development environment and code Apps for the iPhone. When I download the development pack from Apple, it won't run on this computer.

I would guess that only the 'new' generation of Apples, the ones with the x86 based CPU, are capable of developing iPhone Apps. Is this correct?

A dumb question, but I have to know before I make an expensive purchase.

Regards,

JC

You are correct. If you want to develop for iPhone with the lastest SDK, you will have to buy an Intel Mac.

Version 3.1.3 is the last version that will run on PowerPC. Version 3.2 will only run on OSX 10.6 so no PowerPC available.

It's not good news, but I needed to know. Many thanks...
