Hello,

I have a Windows 7 RC on a boot camped MacBook Air. Everything works great except that VS 2008 won't instal on the system. It complains that the Setup.exe is not valid. Strangely enough, Visual Studio Express Edition SP1 installs ok.

I used to have Win7 Beta on Parallels and there it installed ok.

Any ideas?

Macbook Air has no CD, right? Your installation files could be damaged while copying over network or saving to HDD. Try to create installation version ISO image, copy it to MacBook and check MD5 on both sides. It they match, mount ISO and go ahead with installation.

No no, I have an external DVD drive. And VS 2008 installs on Vista machine from a DVD. But the same VS 2008 won't install to Window 7 RC.

I downloaded the VS 2008 iso and tried installing any of the apps on Windows 7 RC1, and it keeps giving me an error saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000006). Click OK to close the application."

Any ideas why? It installed fine on previous versions of Windows (Vista SP1, Vista, and XP).

Is your VS2008 is SP1 or not ?

I am using VS2008 SP1 on Windows 7 RC1 And never had a problem, even when I was using Windows 7 it's beta stages (when it just came out).

I do have problems running some programs on windows7 but VS2008 not one of them.
