Can anyone recommend any websites/books for getting up to speed on biztalk quickly?

I really like Virtual Labs. Let's you get your hands on the technology quickly.

I've read a couple of good books recently. Pro BizTalk 2009 is a good one.

But perhaps one of the best resources available to you, for free, is the BizTalk documentation, the SDK and the samples that are included.

Failing that checkout BizTalk247 which is an excellent site that brings together posts from various industry and community leaders for BizTalk Server.

In addition to biztalk247.com there is also http://blogdoc.biztalk247.com which consolidates all the good blog post related to BizTalk server in one place. You should pick up posts related to getting started, architecture etc which contains some really good articles.

Microsoft has some great white papers covering various angles of deploying and using the product: http://www.microsoft.com/biztalk/en/us/white-papers.aspx

The Operations Guide is something you should be familiar with and keep handy as a reference: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5251F103-329D-4F8D-95B5-64F99F2F6DFC&displaylang=en
