Are there any certifications for Business Analyst in the Banking domain similar to ones available for the techical stream like MCSE, OCP, etc?

PS: If someone has visited this question, please note that a dedicated BA site is proposed at

Check out the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA). There you can find information on becoming CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certified. A PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is also well sought after. Many businesses value these types of professional organization credentials more so than corporate credentials, this is particularly true in the government sector where certifications must come from an independent source.

You may also want to look at corporate certification programs such as Microsoft's Certified Business Management Solutions Specialist & Professional. I'm sure other companies have similar "Business Analyst" like certifications.

I have heard that CBAP examination is not for people in India. Is it true? I mean the prometric center for that exam is not available in India is what I read.

The CBAP exam can be taken in India. One of my friends cleared the exam last month, and is the 8th CBAP in India.

It would help improve your answer if you mentioned some details about where/who to see about getting the certification.
