Hi - I realise NCover has gone commercial. I am looking for teh free version. Where do i get the latest free version of NCover?

The NCover website only talks about a trial version of the commercial product, not the free version.

A:

ncover.sourceforge.net (Google is your friend).

Yes thanks i have tried that before, but the build i got from that link keeps crashing all teh time. A simple ncover-console.exe with parameters is crashing. So i was thinking may be i took teh build from teh wrong place. Also its versioned at, while i heard there was a later free version.
i meant that build was "versioned at 1.0.1" in the above comment.
Having gone commercial, I doubt if the ncover authors have any interest in making the free version actually work.

-1 GIYF? sure! But as this particular case shows, you don't yield a SO answer from a Google search result. The proposed answer is misleading and causes confusion. There are two free versions of NCover available: The SourceForge one (which is discontinued and not working well as Try's comment above shows) and the Gnoso one (which used to be free and has gone commercial after version 1.5.8). A link to the latter one (as presented by Stephen Ward) would have been an appropriate answer.

NCover is a commercial product now. You can check PartCover as an alternative.

PartCover does not seem to work with class library codebase. It seems to work only with EXE files. Is this correct, or do they support class libraries as well - i.e. dll code.
You do it by running your tests using the console runner of your test framework (NUnit.Console.exe, etc).

PartCover does support class library checking as well.
