How can I find employers who need a specific skill that I have

Is there a good resource for finding an employer that requires experience in a specific, uncommon technology? For example, where I work uses an SDK from a 3rd party that several other businesses also use. What can I do to find those employers that have positions that require my relevant experience?

I'd see if the vendor of the SDK will share their client list.

I would say your best bet is 'networking'. Word of mouth is going to find you the best results.

Making friends with someone at the company that makes the SDK would be beneficial.

Find out if the vendor has a contractor/consultant list that they give out to clients, get on it.

If it is an open-source tool, be active in the community (mailing lists, IRC, etc)

Are there mailing lists or web forums for that SDK at all ? If so become active on those and help others with their problems. Soon enough you will become well known in that little community and all being well potential employers will approach you.

If there are no such lists or forums think about starting one yourself.
