Hi,

I think I have done everything right but my content type won't appear in the page properties.

Here's what I did:

  1. Created 2 content types, one deriving from "Welcome Page" and one deriving from "Article Page"
  2. Created "Site Columns" and added them to my content types
  3. Opened Sharepoint designer to create a page layouts based on my Content Types (3 pieces)
  4. Checked-in as Major Version, Approved it
  5. Added the Page Layouts to the list of layouts under "Site Actions/Site Settings/Modify All Site Settings" to "Pages in this site can only use the following layouts:" list
  6. Created a site "Site Actions/Create Site" and chose "Publishing/Publishing Site" under "Template Selection"
  7. Went to "Site Action/Manage Content and Structure" and navigated to the default welcome pages of my site
  8. Opened "View Properties/Edit Item" to change the Content type to my default Welcome page

And here is the Problem, I can see my Welcome Page Content Type, but not the other 2 I created. So I am able to change the welcome page and the set the right page layout, but on every site under this site I can't. I open the "View Properties/Edit item" and there is not even the welcome page.

I don't know what to do. Do I have to publish it or something else? The "Page Layouts" are set to "Pages inherit preferred layouts from parent site" and why is only my welcome page content type appearing?

I'm starting to get really confused.... ;-(
